How to convert GIF to JPG

      1. Drop your GIF files above. Add a single file or a whole batch — each .gif file is decoded locally in your browser.
      2. JPG is already selected as the output. Adjust the quality slider, and set an output size if you want one: an exact canvas or a limit on the longest edge.
      3. Press Process and download. Each row shows the new dimensions and size change; download the .jpg result as one file, or the whole batch as a ZIP.

      About the formats

      GIF (Graphics Interchange Format)

GIF is a 256-color format from 1987 that survives on the strength of its animation support. For still images it is obsolete — PNG is smaller and not limited to 256 colors — so converting single-frame GIFs to PNG or WebP is nearly always an upgrade.

      JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)

JPEG is the universal format for photographs. Its lossy compression is tuned for natural images — smooth gradients, real-world detail — and produces small files at quality levels that are visually indistinguishable from the original. It has no transparency support.

      Frequently asked questions

Is this GIF to JPG converter free?

Yes — free, unlimited and without watermarks. Conversion runs on your own machine, so there are no server costs behind it.

      Are my GIF images uploaded?

No. Your browser decodes the GIF file and re-encodes it as JPG locally using the Canvas API. Nothing is transmitted anywhere.

Will the GIF animation survive the conversion?

No. Only the first frame is decoded onto the canvas, so the JPG result is a still image. If you need motion, keep the GIF or use a video format instead.

Can I convert multiple images at once?

Yes — drop any number of files and convert the whole batch in one click. A single result downloads as a file; a batch arrives as a ZIP, and each row shows the new dimensions and the size change.

What does GIF to JPG conversion not preserve?

The browser decodes the GIF onto one canvas frame before writing JPG, so animation and frame timing are discarded. Use this route only when you want a still image from the GIF.
