How to convert a 3D model in your browser

        1. Drop your files. STEP, IGES and BREP are parsed by a full CAD geometry kernel compiled to WebAssembly, preserving their exact surfaces; mesh formats such as STL, OBJ, PLY and glTF load through JavaScript parsers in a Web Worker. Nothing is uploaded.
        2. Pick the output. Choose the export format, tessellation quality and units. CAD solids are triangulated at the precision you select — the one irreversible step, since exact surfaces become triangles.
        3. Download — or inspect in 3D. The result is written locally and downloads straight from your browser. Every model also opens in the built-in 3D viewer with an assembly tree, section views and display modes.

        Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser: a CAD geometry kernel compiled to WebAssembly for STEP, IGES and BREP, and JavaScript mesh loaders for the rest. Your files never leave your device, which also makes the converter safe for confidential CAD data.

How do I convert STEP to STL?

Drop your .step or .stp file above, choose STL as the output format, pick a tessellation quality and press Convert. The mesh is generated locally and downloads straight from your browser.

        Which formats are supported?

Import: STEP, IGES, BREP, STL, OBJ, PLY, GLB, glTF, 3MF, COLLADA, AMF, FBX, 3DS, OFF. Export: STL, OBJ, PLY, GLB, glTF, 3MF, OFF, USDZ, Scene JSON.

        Is it really free?

Yes — no accounts, no file limits, no watermarks. Because processing happens on your own machine, there are no server costs to pass on.

Can I view a model without converting it?

Yes. Every file gets a free 3D preview with an assembly tree, section views and display modes — or use the standalone 3D viewer.
